Adams County commissioners approve vendor payments, Farmers Market lease and multiple resolutions in unanimous votes

The Adams County Board of Commissioners approved a package of routine payments, contracts and administrative resolutions at its March 2, 2026 regular session.
The board carried Resolution No. 2026-075 to pay vendor invoices across county departments, with a grand total reported of $253,360.53. Commissioners also approved Resolution No. 2026-076, a supplemental transfer of $76,000 from materials (165-163-5340) to contract services (165-163-5420) for the Engineer and several additional appropriations and a reduction of $0.49 from Dog & Kennel salaries.
The board approved Resolution No. 2026-077 to lease the large west parking lot at 923 Sunrise Ave. to the Adams County Farmers Market from May 2 through Sept. 5, 2026 (see Contract Journal 104, p. 21). It adopted Resolution No. 2026-078 to realign and stagger terms of the Adams County Children Services Board under Ohio Revised Code Section 5153.03, specifying adjusted expirations for Karl Boerger, Stephanie Edgington, Tena Nickell, Hannum Taylor and Jude Endicott to restore the required staggering of terms.
Commissioners entered an agreement with The Verdin Company under Resolution No. 2026-079 for planned maintenance of the courthouse tower clock and bell equipment at $720 for the 2026 calendar year. The board approved Resolution No. 2026-081 to advertise a Request for Qualifications for Construction Manager at Risk services for the proposed new Adams County Jail Project. The board also approved Resolution No. 2026-085 establishing Sheriff Title IV‑D Fund #046.
All recorded roll-call votes tied to these resolutions were unanimous (Jones, Moore Holt and Hayslip voting “aye”).
Other procurement and facilities items were handled during the meeting, including acceptance of a FreedomLinx quote to replace two commissioners’ office clerk computers because of hard-drive failure warnings and approval to proceed with installation of surge protectors on new HVAC compressors at the courthouse following a $4,200 estimate from Kitchen Electric LLC.
What happens next: lease and contract details were referenced to county contract journals; procurement steps for the jail RFQ will follow advertised timelines, and the established Sheriff Title IV‑D fund will be available for applicable accounting and program administration.
