Commissioners approve routine fiscal items, proclamations and personnel actions; summary of votes

At the April 21 meeting commissioners approved appropriations and transfers, declared surplus items, ratified a 911 hire, accepted multiple contracts, approved proclamations (P.E.O. centennial, First Responder Summit, Diane Saylor Day) and adjourned. All recorded motions passed unanimously.
The Athens County Board of Commissioners conducted routine business and approved numerous motions by unanimous roll call (Eliason, Chmiel, Adkins voting yea). Key approvals and recognitions included:

Athens Chapter G 100th Anniversary (May 13, 2026); designation recognizing the Beyond the Uniform First Responder PTSD & Mental Health Awareness Summit (June 27, 2026); and proclamation designating May 1, 2026 as Diane Saylor Day. - Surplus declarations for recorder and treasurer equipment and a transfer to Soil & Water (approved).
