Ivins City Council unanimously certifies municipal election canvass

At a special meeting on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, the Ivins City Council approved Ordinance No. 2025-23, certifying the canvass report prepared by the Washington County election clerk for the municipal general election held Nov. 4, 2025. The council took the action after the presiding official presented the canvass report and invited questions; none were raised.
A council member moved to approve the ordinance, saying, "I make a motion that we ... approve ordinance number 2025-23," and the motion was seconded. In a roll call, Council members Gillespie, Barton, Smith and Scott each voted Aye. The presiding official declared the motion carried unanimously and the ordinance certified.
The presiding official noted that "Terry" served as the official recorder for the meeting. Council members also thanked election staff for their work: a council member singled out Carrie for long hours during the election, and the presiding official also thanked Carrie and Sharon for their work with the planning commission and election duties.
The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. No further business was heard.
