Cook Tower repairs and Clerk of Courts relocation outlined at Allen County meeting

Relocation logistics for the Clerk of Courts were discussed in detail. The minutes record a signage estimate of $195.99 and a moving quote from Lanes of $7,533.75 (seven men for 20 hours). The board also reviewed whether to move the existing courthouse safe or replace it with a smaller unit at the new site. Patchet and Clerk Brittany Woods will inventory available furnishings at Cook Tower for possible reuse by the Child Support Enforcement Agency.
Commissioners tentatively scheduled the move for mid‑March and authorized staff to continue planning. No formal motion to finalize the relocation was recorded in the minutes; the items were discussed and staff were assigned follow‑up tasks.
