At its March 12 meeting the Botetourt County School Board approved a broad consent agenda covering routine business and several program approvals.
The board accepted bills and approved minutes from prior meetings. It authorized the superintendent to fill vacancies between March 12 and April 9, approved multiple student travel resolutions (including trips to Virginia Beach, Yorktown, Johnson City TN, Matthews NC, Philadelphia and Atlanta), and approved Kiddom Virginia math K‑5 as the recommended math textbook selection. The consent agenda also included approval of a bus driver signing bonus for the 2026–27 hiring year. Motions on consent items were typically moved by Tim Davidick and seconded by Matt East and were recorded as carrying unanimously.
Chair Weddle also recognized employees of the month (Jeff King, building manager; Stuart Bird, agriculture science teacher and FFA sponsor) and several student athletic accomplishments at VHSL events and regional/state competitions. Dr. Womack and Mark Levy highlighted first‑place student winners advancing to regional science fairs and Melinda Foster announced that all Botetourt County schools earned Heart Safe School designation under Project ADAM; a short video by Dr. John Phillips, MD, program medical director was shown.
The board completed the consent items and moved on to other agenda business.
