Douglas County Board recognizes Youth Leadership Douglas graduates

At the April 20, 2026 Douglas County Board of Education meeting, Chelsea Landers, programs and event coordinator at the Douglas County Chamber, introduced and recognized the graduates of Youth Leadership Douglas.
The presentation, led by Landers and escorted by supporting work-based learning coordinators, listed the students and staff who participated in or supported the program. Landers said the program, run in partnership with the school system and the Chamber, helps high school juniors learn about local government agencies, businesses and civic organizations while developing social and business etiquette. "I am Chelsea Landers, programs and event coordinator at the Douglas County Chamber," she said.
Landers named participating students and thanked program assistants and coordinators, including Jasmine Elliott White, Zane Hedge, Julie Jeffcoat, Summer Rogers, Kimberly Iles Towery, Tanya Bailey and Whitney Lester. Board members offered congratulations. Dr. Scott called the district's Festival of the Arts "incredible" and praised staff for their leadership in supporting student creativity.
The board did not take formal action on the presentation. The meeting then recessed briefly before moving to business items.
