Committee recommends Alyssa Dunning to fill vacant Hales Corners trustee seat

The Village of Hales Corners Committee of the Whole on April 13 voted to recommend Alyssa Dunning to the Village Board to complete a vacant trustee term.
President Diane Besson recommended Dunning, citing her prior service on the village July 4th Committee and the Plan Commission as experience that exposed her to municipal government operations. Trustee S. Riemer seconded the recommendation and the motion (Besson, Riemer) passed 5-1. Trustee M. Bennett recorded the lone dissent, saying she was concerned that Dunning’s employer could create frequent recusal situations on future development matters.
Dunning, one of four applicants who introduced themselves at the meeting, answered questions about her background and involvement in local committees. Other applicants who were interviewed included John Byrnes, Katelynn Zingsheim and Tim Stachowiak.
The Committee’s vote is a recommendation to the Village Board; the Board will consider formal appointment at its next meeting.
