The Olive Branch Board of Aldermen on May 5 approved two professional-services items: a not-to-exceed $20,000 contract with Jones Davis Engineering for easement acquisition tied to the Center Hill Road gas-main Phase 2 project, and a contract amendment with Neil Shaffer Inc. to expand partial construction engineering and inspection to full CE&I for the Old Town Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project, increasing fees by roughly $69,476 to a revised contract total of $166,216.
Engineering staff explained that Jones Davis has provided plats and legal descriptions on past projects and will assist with easement documents. On the sewer project, staff said the scope has shifted to require full CE&I services, which raised the fee estimate. "We're just waiting on the final documents to be signed and we should... they can start the upgrade of the sewer project for Old Town," staff said.
Motions to approve both items were made and seconded; the board voted to carry them. Staff said work can begin once final documents are executed.
