In public comment earlier, Committee member (S4) had outlined dumpster pricing: a 30-yard dumpster pickup runs about $200 per pickup plus $45 per ton; using a conservative estimate of four tons per pickup and weekly pick-ups, S4 said "the total for a month would be right shy of $1,500" and suggested dividing costs across roughly 200 water hookups to estimate a resident cost-share of about $7.50 per month if pickups are every other week.
The council agreed to provide trash bags and gloves, to pay for a volunteer lunch (estimated $5–7 per plate), and to set clear rules for the dumpster and green-waste roll-offs (no tires, batteries or chemicals). Members discussed placement (park parking lot vs. another town lot) and flagged concerns about heavy dumpsters on new asphalt.
Next steps: Staff will confirm dumpster delivery and placement, post sign-ups and updates to social media, provide supplies for volunteers, and finalize volunteer recognition arrangements.
