Fremont County approves Schneider Geospatial contract for countywide GIS services

The Fremont County Commissioners unanimously approved a Professional Services Agreement on April 21 to move the county’s mapping and GIS services to Schneider Geospatial.
Assessor Tara Berg introduced the proposal and said the Schneider system can integrate existing county software, including CAMA and EagleView, and provide mapping, parcel search, property photos, online forms and layers useful to departments such as Emergency Management. Ryan Smith of Schneider Geospatial presented the product features via Zoom and said work would begin once the contract was signed, with rollout and invoicing to start July 1, 2026.
The contract includes a one‑time setup/conversion fee of $6,650 and an annual hosting and maintenance fee of $13,740 for the 2026–27 year. Commissioners approved the Professional Services Agreement on a motion by Clarence Thomas, seconded by Ron Fabrizius; the motion carried unanimously.
Officials said the system will assist multiple county departments in tasks such as evacuation mapping, asset inventories and rapid identification of wildfire‑affected structures; specific implementation timelines beyond initial rollout were not specified in the minutes.
The county will execute the contract and begin the implementation process in coordination with the Assessor’s office and IT staff.
