Council recognizes city volunteers and proclaims National School Counseling Week

The council recognized city volunteers and adopted a proclamation acknowledging the role of comprehensive school counseling in Eastvale schools.
Staff introduced three new volunteers and said the program has 21 volunteers who support city priorities such as patrol assistance, event staffing and maintaining small libraries. The council presented milestone recognitions: Katrina Hayes was recognized for 100 volunteer hours; David Wu and Raul Gutierrez were recognized for 250 hours (David was unable to attend); and Victor Pimentel was recognized for 500 hours (also absent). Staff provided sign-up information and thanked volunteers for their service.
The council also proclaimed National School Counseling Week. Raul Gutierrez, speaking for school counselors, described his years of service in the local schools and emphasized the counselors’ role in student safety and support.
The recognitions were ceremonial and informational; no formal council action or vote was required beyond accepting the additions to the agenda earlier in the meeting.
