Holt County supervisors void duplicate payments, approve equipment leases, training and vehicle purchase

On equipment and training, the board approved leases for three Cat 265 skid steers with NMC—one for the Weed Department and two for the Road Department—on one‑year, 250‑hour leases at $9,450 each (motion by Tielke, 2nd by Frahm). The board approved a motorgrader training agreement with Jackson's Heavy Equipment Training LLC scheduled for May 11–14, 2026 (motion by Frahm, 2nd by Linquist). All motions carried with the same recorded voting pattern; Duane Neiman was absent.
For county fleet needs, the board reviewed State bid quotes from Wm. Krotter Co. and approved purchase of a 2026 Chevrolet Suburban LS 4x4 for $62,042.00, and directed that the 2019 Suburban be declared surplus (motion by Frahm, 2nd by Tielke). The Department Activity Report was presented by Road Superintendent Gary Connot and by Dave Reiman. Chairman Darrin Paxton adjourned the meeting at 11:31 a.m.; the board will meet next on May 18, 2026 at 9:45 a.m.
