Council adopts package of ordinances, authorizes LID actions and OKs $1-per-year Wells Park lease to Boys & Girls Club

Henderson — The City Council adopted a package of bills and resolutions that included amendments to the Henderson Municipal Code, local improvement district actions, authorization to sell bonds and a lease to the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada.
Planning staff presented several development and code items and recommended adoption. The council adopted a major modification to the Cadence development agreement (bill 3912, adopt as ordinance 4156) with an additional condition prohibiting new taverns in Cadence, as noted by staff. The council also adopted an amendment to the Henderson Municipal Code section 4.05.0.02 (bill 3919, ordinance 4157), created Local Improvement District LID‑23‑1 for Lakemore Canyon (bill 3920, ordinance 4158), authorized issuance and sale of bonds (bill 3921, ordinance 4159) and adopted the assessment of costs for LID‑23‑1 (bill 3922, ordinance 4160). The clerk recorded that each motion was moved and carried.
On a separate item, staff said the council would rescind and replace Resolution 4674 (adopted 02/17/2026) and expressed city intent to lease a 5,000‑square‑foot building at Wells Park to the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada for $1 annually to provide after‑school programming. Staff recommended adoption and the council voted to adopt the resolution.
What happens next: Items filed as bills to be read in title were referred to the council meeting on May 19, 2026 for additional consideration where applicable. City departments will proceed with implementation of the adopted ordinances, LID administration and the lease agreement.
