CCRPC approves Act 250 comment letter for Bolton Valley Resort mountain-bike trail project

The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission’s Executive & Finance Committee voted unanimously on April 7, 2021, to approve a draft Act 250 comment letter on a permit application for Bolton Valley Resort.
Regina Mahony reviewed the application for construction of approximately 7.2 miles of new lift-served mountain bike trails at Bolton Valley Resort on Bolton Access Road. CCRPC staff concluded the project conforms with the Planning Areas of the 2018 Chittenden County ECOS Plan and noted the state is likely to evaluate stormwater management for the proposal. The CCRPC noted its comments are based on information currently available and that additional comments could follow as the review continues.
John Zicconi moved, and Andy Montroll seconded, to approve the comment letter as presented to District Coordinator Rachel Lomonaco; the motion carried unanimously. Chair Mike O’Brien asked staff to add a clarifying sentence to the letter to explain that the project spans both Rural and Village Planning Areas to avoid confusion in the record.
The CCRPC record indicates staff will make that clarification before sending the letter to the District Coordinator.
