Madison County supervisors cleared a series of administrative and financial items May 4, approving land dedications and development plats, awarding a contract for financial statement preparation, and adopting budget amendments and the general claims docket.
Board action included acceptance of a 1.54‑acre deed of dedication from Clarence Associates, Thomas Sellers and Allen Sparks to be taken as county right‑of‑way, and approval of the final plat for Oakfield Phase 6 (60 lots on 20.91 acres) with a letter of credit for final wearing surface.
The board also authorized a contract with Novum LLC to prepare financial statements, citing a July 15 deadline to get reports out sooner, and directed staff to terminate existing contracts with BMFW Group and Kavanaugh Lehi. "That is what is driving this change ... to get the reports out a little sooner," the account administrator said.
The comptroller presented budget amendments and an interfund cash transfer under item 34; the board moved and approved the amendments. The board then approved the general claims docket as presented. Most votes on these routine items were recorded by voice as 'Aye.'
Supervisors also heard that the sheriff is still compiling cost projections for detention‑facility repairs and will return with figures to align with the budget timeline.
