Madison County approves $1.54 million supplemental for Bozeman Road project

At the meeting a county presenter said the supplemental is contingent on concurrence from MDOT and FHWA and explained that about $467,000 had been shifted from a Reunion Parkway segment into the Bozeman project. The presenter said the board could extend a box culvert south of Belterre under phase‑1 pricing rather than rebidding at higher 2027 prices, calling the move a better financial decision for the county. "This is ... for an amount not to exceed $1,540,232.30," the presenter said.
Supervisors moved, seconded and approved the supplemental agreement without recorded opposition. County staff characterized the funding as accounted for and said the approach avoids paying 2027 rates for the culvert work.
The approval authorizes the board president to sign the supplemental agreement and an INDOT quantity adjustment once MDOT and FHWA concurrence is received. The county did not provide at the meeting a breakdown of which budget lines will supply the $1.54 million, only that the funds are being shifted from the Reunion 2 project and other project accounting.
