At its April 30 meeting the Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a package of budget and administrative actions, including additional appropriations, a reduction to one grant line, travel reimbursements, and an invitation to bid for nonemergency transportation (NET) services.
The board approved additional appropriations of $4,553.50 to County General (account 1000-41-101-580000), $113,740.65 to Engineer Capital Outlay (4554-33-500-550000) and $22,000.00 to the America 250 Grant (6251-50-100-530000). The board also approved a minus appropriation reducing the EMA Grant (2317-32-310-530000) by $17,650.00. Each appropriation change passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Commissioners also approved multiple travel and training reimbursement requests across departments. Examples included required site visits by Children Services staff to several counties and meetings listed for Family & Children First and RSVP trainers; two CCMEP workers were approved to attend an in-demand job fair in Caldwell on May 4.
Job & Family Services was authorized to issue an Invitation to Bid for curb-to-curb NET services to transport Medicaid-eligible participants to and from health-care appointments. The invitation specifies that vendor bids must demonstrate experience providing NET services and that payment will be based on reimbursement for service; Flite Freimann, Director of JFS, said the goal is to have multiple NET options. The bid opening was scheduled for May 28, 2026 at 9:45 a.m.
All motions in this package were moved by Commissioner Eddie D. Place and seconded by Commissioner Nohe, and recorded on roll-call votes as Charlie Schilling: aye; Eddie Place: aye; Greg Nohe: aye.
The meeting adjourned at 9:23 a.m.
