Jackson County commissioners approve contracts for training and new county phone system

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved three orders at its April 15, 2026, regular meeting, authorizing county contracts for staff training and a replacement of the county telephone system.

County Administrator Danny Jordan told the board that Coaching Ourselves International Inc. will provide leadership and team‑building training intended to strengthen coaching skills and support organizational change; the board adopted that contract as Order No. 91‑26 after Commissioner Colleen Roberts moved approval and Commissioner Randy Sparacino seconded. The motion passed with Commissioners Roberts, Sparacino and Chair Rick Dyer voting aye.

Jordan also described an intranet license agreement with Trainery One, LLC DBA Training Network to provide online fire‑extinguisher training for county staff. The board approved that agreement as Order No. 92‑26 by the same 3‑0 vote.

Finally, Jordan said the county would enter a Master Services Agreement with RingCentral, Inc. to replace Jackson County’s telephone system with a cloud‑based communications platform designed to improve reliability and reduce dependence on aging hardware. The board approved that contract as Order No. 93‑26, again by a unanimous vote.

The items were taken during the meeting’s Discussion/Deliberation segment after the Consent Calendar was approved. The Consent Calendar, which included minutes from three prior meetings, was adopted earlier in the session on a motion by Commissioner Randy Sparacino, seconded by Commissioner Colleen Roberts, and passed 3‑0.

There were no public hearings and no non‑agenda public comments. With no further business, Chair Rick Dyer adjourned the meeting at 9:36 a.m.
