The mayor said the council wanted to ensure the commission included voices representing the city’s original inhabitants; with support from the Wilton Rancheria and other letters in the record, the mayor moved to advance Angelina Hinojosa. Council concurred and appointed Hinojosa. Several council members noted the strength of other applicants and encouraged them to seek future openings.
