Trune golf resort reports stronger-than-expected operating results; council presses on resident tee-time access

Robin Graff, general manager of the resort operating the Indian Wells golf properties, briefed the council on resort operations and visitor-facing programs on Feb. 5.
Graff said consolidated net operating income was "pacing ahead by over 8%" through December and that merchandise and food-and-beverage revenue were performing well. He also described temporary "cart-path only" conditions intended to protect turf ahead of peak season and acknowledged some resident dissatisfaction when preferred times fill quickly.
On resident access to tee times, Graff explained resident-price windows and the booking mechanics: a proportion of tee times are reserved for residents up to 14 days out and additional times open closer to the date. "We have 33% of our tee times reserved for residents 14 days out," he said, adding that many premium resident blocks are booked quickly and that availability often exists within three days of play.
Council members raised concerns about perceived "gaming" of resident blocks; Graff said staff monitors for abuse and believes any remaining issues are small and manageable. The council also discussed longer-term solutions such as additional course capacity.
Graff previewed upcoming special events (Valentine's Day dining, a chef fireside chat, resident championship and other promotions) and thanked the council for ongoing partnership.
