I’ve been with the department for just shy of 19 years,” and describing assignments on patrol, the full‑time SWAT team and training work at the basic academy.
City Manager Mark Orum praised Esquivel’s leadership and detailed contributions he said benefited Eastvale, citing coordination of retail‑theft suppression operations and work at special events including Fourth of July celebrations. Council Member Dinko thanked Esquivel for his responsiveness and credited him with helping keep Eastvale safe.
Esquivel accepted a keepsake from the council and gave brief farewell remarks about his time serving the city; speakers noted he will continue to live in the community. The item was a ceremonial presentation and no formal council vote or policy action accompanied the recognition.
The personnel change reflects an RSO assignment shift; Lieutenant Ball said he looks forward to working with Eastvale staff and residents in his new role.
