The board moved and passed the resolution unanimously. Supervisor Kevin Goss moved approval and Supervisor Engel seconded; the roll call showed all members voting yes.
After the vote, family members and courthouse colleagues spoke at the meeting. One family member thanked the community for its support and described Goings as “my hero,” and several coworkers recalled his presence at community events and his reliability on election nights. Lee Johnson, a local ranger, and others noted Goings’s community involvement, and the board invited family members to speak before observing a moment of silence.
The resolution will be presented to Goings’s family. The board did not take any formal policy action beyond the memorial; the remainder of the meeting proceeded with the regular agenda.
