Mayor Jodie A. Perry read a proclamation declaring May 2026 as Mental Health Awareness Month in Richland County and invited Carrie Vogt, the new executive director of the Richland County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, to summarize local resources.
Vogt said the Richland Recovery Network distribution one-pager lists local behavioral-health agencies and contacts. She identified a 24-hour behavioral-health crisis hotline (419-522-4357) and described a regional mobile response stabilization service (MRSS) that responds anywhere in Richland County within 60 minutes when requested via the statewide 988 number. “They will actually respond anywhere in Richland County within 60 minutes,” Vogt said.
Vogt also noted partners such as Catalyst Life Services (which provides behavioral-health urgent care), NAMI Richland County, and local hospitals that help connect residents to services. She encouraged attendance at several Mental Health Month events and directed residents to richlandmentalhealth.com and richlandrecoverynetwork.com for more information.
Council received the proclamation and the resource overview as part of its community-engagement agenda; no council action was required at the meeting.
