Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities asks school board to endorse Head Start RFP bid

Miranda Resovich, executive director of the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, introduced the organization’s Head Start program and asked the Saint Martin Parish School Board to consider endorsing their application when the local Head Start grant opportunity is posted.
Resovich told the board the Endowment administers a Head Start program in nearby Lafayette and Iberia parishes and emphasized the organization’s focus on classroom curriculum, teacher support and family engagement. “We are very data informed and driven,” she said, and offered to share program outcomes and host board members at local programs so the board can see operational practices.
Resovich asked the board’s staff and members to consider providing a letter of support and said the organization will supply templates to make endorsement easy. Board members thanked the delegation and invited follow‑up on facilities and partnership details; no formal endorsement vote was taken during the meeting.
The request will return to the board for consideration once the RFP is posted and when staff can review program compatibility with district pre‑K/early childhood plans.
