Public works lead Tanner Wilcock requested equipment purchases and event-support items at the April 16 council meeting.
Wilcock asked the council to approve 10 additional speed bumps and 8 candlestick cones at a parts cost of $952.50; freight for speed humps will add to the total and delivery is estimated at two to three weeks after ordering. He also requested bids for additional pole toppers so the city could expand holiday decorations beyond the main intersection; purchased toppers would become city property while vendors would install and store them.
Clerk staff reported six scholarship applications received to date; the city awards eight scholarships and will hold a special meeting only if more applications arrive by mail before the deadline. Jean Seiler and Deanna Moore will work on America 250 celebration purchases, and the council discussed a possible July 5 apple‑pie‑and‑ice‑cream social. Jean also noted a contact on the CIB board who recommended seeking CIB funding for the Town Park project.
