Bryce Canyon City council approves small donations and infrastructure payments

The Bryce Canyon City council on April 16 approved a series of small donations and infrastructure payments aimed at concluding local projects and supporting community events.
Committee member Gary Syrett moved to donate $500 as a "Platinum" sponsor to the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon; the motion was seconded by Cherrie Tebbs and passed (Bryce Syrett voted yes; Mike Stevens and Kam Roundy absent). The council also approved the final payment for the Shuttle Building Enhancement Design Project and accepted a bid for bleachers related to local events; Brady was recorded as remaining interested in the rodeo at Ruby's Inn and expected to pay $4,000 in May.
On facility maintenance, the council approved a $1,600 purchase of handrails for cement stairs on the north end of the shuttle building with installation by Tanner Wilcock, and approved $933.39 for parts and installation of a return vent cover at the Wellness Center. Those items were moved and seconded by committee members and carried with two members absent. No new funding sources were specified in the motions.
