Morgan Lewis and Makenna Chappell asked the Bryce Canyon City council on April 16 to consider donating toward repairs and an enlargement of a broken splash pad in the Town of Tropic. The pair said Tropic is repairing pipes and working to bring the splash pad up to code; they are collecting engineer estimates and exploring grants and private donations to cover costs.
Council members acknowledged that the city previously contributed to a splash pad and noted that RAP tax funds could be used toward the project. The council voted to add the splash-pad donation to the next meeting agenda so members can consider and set a donation amount.
Emerson Lowe, present at the meeting, asked the council to place a separate agenda item to discuss hiring a part‑time employee; the council agreed to add that item to the next agenda as well. No donation amount or hiring decision was finalized at the April 16 meeting.
