The Pismo Beach City Council unanimously adopted a resolution on April 21 levying a 2% assessment on gross lodging revenues for the Pismo Beach Lodging Business Improvement District (LBID) for fiscal year 2026–27.
Miss Feeser presented the LBID annual report and business plan and said the 2% assessment is unchanged from the prior year. She said the assessment could generate approximately $2,700,000 for fiscal year 2027 and that funds are intended to support lodging promotion and visitor-serving physical improvements. "This 2% assessment is the same level of the assessment from the previous year," Feeser said.
Feeser listed typical eligible projects supported by LBID funds: marketing through the conference and visitors bureau, improvements such as Addie Street restroom facilities, annual beautification and public art, beach cleaning equipment, and downtown planning updates. The presentation noted that some projects may be multiyear and would be defined further by staff in collaboration with the CVB, the LBID advisory board and the council.
No protests were filed during the public hearing. Councilor (speaker 6) moved adoption of the resolution and the motion was seconded; the resolution passed 5–0.
Next steps: the LBID will continue to work with city staff and the advisory board to refine project scopes and timing for recommended improvements funded by the assessment.
