Adams County approves JFS agreements for 2026 and selects deputy director

On motions from board members and upon roll call votes, the commissioners approved a 2026 blanket travel authorization for JFS covering multiple Ohio counties and Mason County, Kentucky (Resolution No. 2025‑544); authorized the JFS Director to sign inter‑county allocation adjustments for 2026 (Res. 2025‑545); approved a shared‑office memorandum of understanding with the Adams County Board of Health for locations at 482 & 560 Rice Drive (Res. 2025‑546); authorized a MARC radio MOU for JFS (Res. 2025‑547); adopted a Sick and Vacation Leave Conversion Plan for 2026 (Res. 2025‑548); and approved a Maintenance Repair Worker MOU (Res. 2025‑549). All of those motions were recorded as passing on roll call votes.
The board entered an executive session at 9:36 a.m. to discuss certain personnel matters under ORC 121.22(G)(1). After reconvening at 9:55 a.m., the board announced it was pleased with the deputy director applicant pool and selected Fiscal Officer Danyel McClananhan; the transcript records that an offer will be submitted for the position (no formal appointment vote is recorded in the meeting text). The board also called Becky Brodt, HR/Business Administrator at JFS, to commend her for being a final selection candidate.
JFS Director Angela Malott presented administrative details and awards the department received for 2025 performance during the meeting. The various JFS authorizations are effective Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2026 unless otherwise noted in each MOU or resolution.
