The Manhattan Beach City Council approved its April 28 meeting agenda unanimously and moved to conduct boards-and-commission interviews before adjourning, Mayor Lesser said at the meeting.
The council convened Tuesday evening, led by Mayor Lesser. After a roll call that recorded Council members Tarnay, Sherrillan and Howerworth and Mayor Pro Tem Franklin as present, Council member Tarnay moved to approve the agenda; Mayor Pro Tem Franklin seconded the motion and the council voted 5-0 to adopt it.
There were no public comments. The mayor asked whether anyone in the chamber wished to speak and the city clerk reported no Zoom requests; the council closed public comment and proceeded to its general business item: boards-and-commission interviews.
Mayor Lesser announced the City will hold its State of the City on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 5 p.m. at the Westchester Hotel, 1400 Parkview Avenue in Manhattan Beach. Following that announcement the mayor adjourned the meeting.
The council did not take further substantive votes during the brief session; interviews of board and commission candidates were listed as the primary business for the remainder of the meeting.
