Board approves recommended PE/Health and CTE textbooks from state-approved lists

Dr. Boone named staff who led the adoptions (Jessie Kinsey led CTE adoption; Dr. Flowers and Whitney Morris led Physical Education/Health adoption) and noted committees included high school and middle school representatives. The recommendation to accept the materials was presented for consent and the board voted to approve the selections as presented.
During earlier public comment a resident requested that parents have a way to weigh in on textbook and curriculum decisions; Dr. Boone and board members said adoption committees included building-level input and that the district follows state-selected vendor lists.
What happens next: Staff will move forward with ordering and implementing the adopted materials and will ensure committees' review notes remain part of the adoption record.
