Board member Gigi Robinson explained that the policies were reviewed by staff, the policy committee, and the board attorney prior to being presented and recommended for immediate adoption to align with state law and board rules.
The policies identified by number in the packet were: 1.404 (appeals to and appearances before the board), 2.4 (revenues), 2.702 (inventories), and 6.411 (student wellness). The chair called for a motion to adopt these policies on a first-and-final reading; the motion was made and seconded and the board voted to adopt them as presented.
Board members thanked staff and policy committee members for the review process. The policies will be posted online as part of the board's policy manual following the vote.
What happens next: Adopted policy documents will be posted to the district website and implemented as written to better align district practice with state requirements.
