Council moved to add and then enter an executive session to discuss personnel matters and attorney conferences on pending or imminent litigation.
At the start of the meeting Councilmember Gaston moved to amend the agenda to add an executive session under G1 (personnel) and G3 (attorney conferences regarding pending or imminent court action); Miss Alexander seconded and the amendment passed on roll call, 7-0. Later in the meeting Gaston moved that the body go into executive session under Ohio Revised Code 121.22(G)(1) and (G)(3); Miss Zorpe seconded and roll-call approval was unanimous, 7-0.
Miss Gaston clarified that invited attendees would include all council members, the mayor, the city administrator, the law director and the interim police chief. The law citation and the scope of the two G-sections were read into the record before the vote.
Outcome: Council approved adding the executive-session item to the agenda and then entered executive session by roll-call vote, 7-0. The meeting returned later to legislation and other business when the executive-session portion concluded.
Next steps: No formal action was reported in open session on matters discussed in executive session; any formal decisions will be reflected in future open-session minutes if required by law.
