Princeton Board honors Stewart Elementary as Hall of Fame School and lists district retirees

The Princeton City Schools Board of Education used its May meeting to celebrate school and staff achievements. Board members recognized Stewart Elementary for receiving a Hall of Fame School award from the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators; Joy O'Brien of OASA described the multi-step nomination, blind-review and site-visit process and praised Stewart’s diverse student body and culture.
Joy O'Brien summarized the site visit and noted Stewart’s four-star state report card and strong performance in gap-closing and progress indicators. The board invited Stewart Principal Dennis Ramsey and the school community to the OASA summer conference in recognition of the honor.
State Representative Brownlee also addressed the board and read a commendation naming the district superintendent among America’s top 15 superintendents in Education Insider magazine, praising the superintendent’s leadership and national recognition.
The board also read a formal proclamation declaring Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4–8, 2026) and District Staff Appreciation Week (May 11–15, 2026), and then recognized Viking Excellence award winners and a long list of retirees, naming teachers, administrators, custodial and office staff across district schools.
The meeting’s recognitions were ceremonial; no formal board action was required.
