Lake Bluff approves $353,820 design contract for West Scranton drainage phase 2

Staff told trustees the first construction phase is nearly complete, ahead of schedule and under budget, and the consultant proposed a fee of $353,820 for phase 2 design. Village staff said the phase 2 design would be completed in 2026 to prepare the project for a 2027 construction bid and that the tentative FY2027 budget includes approximately $12 million for construction of this phase.
Trustees asked questions, noted the project’s progress and discussed outside funding efforts to reduce the village’s share. The resolution passed on a roll call; trustees recorded aye votes in the transcript.
Village staff said they will continue to pursue external grants and that the village engineer and administrators will oversee the contract execution and next steps toward bidding the construction phase.
