CB2 Streets Committee approves most permit requests, denies several narrow‑site activations

Several other items were recorded as withdrawn or no‑shows and therefore treated as denials or laid over by the committee.
Not every item received the same level of scrutiny. The committee routinely asked applicants to confirm trash plans, ADA access, queue management and interactions with nearby businesses. For curb‑lane or narrow‑sidewalk proposals, members emphasized the need for additional site plans or advised applicants to seek alternate locations with larger pedestrian clearances.
For one truck‑based activation proposed for Lafayette, committee members said the proposed location was too tight for the applicant’s proposed bus/kiosk setup and voted to deny the request, urging the organizer to find a larger plaza or alternative site.
Where applicants were absent, the committee recorded no‑shows and either denied the item or requested the applicant return at a future meeting. The business session concluded with motions to approve the night's renewals and miscellaneous items; the committee also agreed to follow up with applicants on neighborhood outreach and precise site plans where needed.
The committee did not complete a DEP presentation on noise ordinances because DEP staff experienced technical issues; the agency will be rescheduled.
