The Greenville City Council on March 23 approved multiple routine and economic development measures in a single session, voting unanimously on a package of resolutions and expenditures.
A public hearing at 4:55 p.m. on Resolution 2026-20—authorizing incentives under Section 94.01 for Court Square Bistro—drew no speakers in opposition; the council later adopted the resolution by unanimous vote.
The council also adopted: - Resolution 2026-22 to renew billboard agreements with Lamar Advertising along Interstate 65 to promote local businesses; - Resolution 2026-23 authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with Burr & Forman, Attorneys at Law, to represent the Healthcare Authority of the City of Greenville in connection with the sale of the hospital; - Resolution 2026-24 authorizing an annual, budgeted fireworks agreement with Pyro Shows of Alabama for the Fourth of July.
Mayor Jae’Ques Brown presented the measures and asked for questions; where motions were recorded Councilmember Brandon Smith Sr. moved adoption and colleagues seconded as noted in the minutes. The council also approved listed expenditures, including a $15,500 payment to Express Roofing for Camellia City Bakery.
All recorded votes on the listed agenda items carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
