Town staff presented a monument sign plan for Phase 1A of the Mill at McFarland planned development at the Jan. 13 Planning Commission meeting, and commissioners approved the plan with staff recommendations.
Staff said the proposed single monument sign—roughly nine feet tall with a decorative limestone base, ashlar stone column and gabled roof—would be located at Barrettswood Drive and Kidd Road and would match the development’s approved aesthetic. A developer representative identified themself as a landscape architect and noted the client team was available to answer questions.
A commissioner moved to approve the plan with staff recommendations; after brief discussion that included praise for retaining the McFarland name and continuity with the neighborhood, the commission voted in favor. The chair declared the motion passed.
