The Priceville Town Council approved several routine items including a membership payment, a rezoning hearing date and conference travel for utilities staff.
Council approved a $100 payment to the Alabama Municipal Judges Association to cover Judge Melissa Herring's membership dues. The council also set a public hearing for May 11 at 6:30 p.m. on the Maples property rezoning; Mayor Hedland said the planning commission recommended approval and described the site as roughly seven acres near Skibor Road, at the second exit from Jim House Landing.
Separately, the utilities committee requested authorization for Michael Bell to attend the 2026 High Mountain Water and Pollution Control Conference in Perdido in August; the stated cost included $835.20 for hotel and about $300 for registration, plus travel expenses. The motion to approve the travel was made and seconded and the council approved it.
Next steps: The public hearing on the Maples rezoning will take place May 11 at 6:30 p.m.; staff will proceed with travel arrangements for Michael Bell and record the membership payment for Judge Herring.
