The Newburyport Conservation Commission voted to issue a certificate of compliance for Brunell Dryer Systems’ completed 10,000-square-foot addition at 3 Stanley Tucker Drive, including an underground stormwater treatment chamber.
The commission’s staff said the site visit photos and as-built landscaping matched the approved plans. Chuck Brunell, an applicant representative, told commissioners the work has a certificate of occupancy and the drainage now routes roof runoff into the underground chamber before slowly discharging to nearby wetlands. "We just completed our 10,000 square foot addition. We have our certificate of occupancy for the building, and we're looking to close out the conservation side of the permit," Brunell said.
Commission members asked supervisory questions about the pipes, outflows and the plantings. Staff confirmed that the plantings—pepperbush, serviceberry and blueberry—were installed consistent with the planning board’s as-built drawings. A commissioner noted there were no unique special conditions attached beyond the standard post-construction compliance items.
Commissioner Steve Moore moved to issue the certificate; Julie Godferson seconded. A roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes by Steve Moore, Barbara Riley, Julie Godferson and the chair. The certificate was approved.
The commission did not add additional conditions and the applicants thanked the commission for its time. The commission will proceed to other agenda items.
