The Hinsdale Village Board on May 5 approved second‑reading items covering employee pay plans and procurement adjustments.
Trustee Pashtama presented the 2026 pay plans covering village employees (excluding unionized police and fire), describing a general 3% across‑the‑board increase consistent with the 2026 budget and several position‑specific adjustments including changing annual hours for vacant positions to 2,080 and a market adjustment for an identified position. The board voted to approve the 2026 pay plans effective May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027.
Pashtama also combined items to increase blanket purchase orders for outsourced plumbing inspections and plan reviews from $40,000 to $150,000 (split between TPI Building Code Consultants and Don Morris Architects). Because the expenses are passed through to applicants, staff said the increase is budget‑neutral; Pashtama requested an amendment to the FY2026 budget to add $110,000 of expenses offset by an equal increase in permitted revenues. The board approved the purchase order increase and the budget amendment (two‑thirds approval required for the budget amendment), with roll‑call ayes recorded.
