"That is a very positive signal as we continue to move this process forward," Hart said.
Trustee Braden and others emphasized preserving the project's historic aesthetic and confirmed they asked bidders to provide line‑item breakdowns to facilitate apples‑to‑apples comparisons. Trustees discussed a targeted July 4 groundbreaking with a fall completion to avoid disrupting the summer concert series; staff said they expect to present a recommended builder to the board in the coming weeks.
Hart also announced a $10,000 personal contribution from Hinsdale residents Carrie and Nick Galassi to the pavilion project and thanked them for their support.
Trustees urged staff to expedite proposals where possible and to return a recommendation after evaluating updated bids and proposed materials.
