City staff to reformat zoning code and convene joint workshop on sign code after legal changes

He said he is also arranging a joint workshop with the planning commission and the board to revise the sign code. “There’s been a lot of federal lawsuits that have changed a lot of what we can and cannot regulate on signs,” Sean said, adding that the planned revisions are intended to ensure the city’s regulations remain legally compliant.
Commissioners discussed scheduling and availability; staff said he would resend a poll with possible dates and times. No formal policy action was taken during the meeting; staff will circulate proposed dates and return with draft language for the board’s review.
