The St John Town Board voted May 7 to hire Lesniak Roofing and Construction to replace the Civic Park roof at a cost of $7,495.
Town staff reported that shingles had come off the Civic Park roof and that water was leaking into a bathroom, prompting discussion about whether to patch the roof for this year or do a full replacement. The board debated timing and the risk that delaying repairs could cause further interior damage.
Wayne Pandinis moved the motion to hire Lesniak Roofing "for the replacement of the roof at Civic Park for the cost of $7,495," which was seconded and carried by voice vote. Board members emphasized the urgency of the repair and directed staff to proceed.
The decision authorizes the contractor to begin work as scheduled; staff noted a fuller replacement might be necessary in the future if underlying issues persist.
