Isanti County schedules May 11–June 9 online auction for nine tax‑forfeited properties

County staff outlined plans for the second online public auction this year of tax‑forfeited properties, saying nine parcels forfeited in 2024–2025 will be offered at statutory starting prices based on estimated market value at the time of forfeiture.
"The sale will run May 11 at 8AM through Tuesday, June 9 at 3PM," Angie Larson said, adding staff will use the same minbid.com platform that was used for the previous sale. Larson said the initial sale must run 30 days at the estimated market value per statute; parcels that do not sell at the first sale move to a reduced minimum‑bid sale (June 10–July 9).
Larson walked commissioners through several examples including small lots in Francis Lake Shores (starting bids as low as $1,000), a narrow government lot in Spencer Brook Township (starting bid $700), and a 1.02‑acre parcel in the City of Cambridge along the railroad with a beginning bid of $33,500. She said adjoining owners are notified and the county publishes the sale notice and posts properties on the county website.
Staff said a third sale will be scheduled later in the year to handle parcels that remain unsold, along with older inventory dating to 2016 and prior; a few parcels will require additional discussion with state DNR staff.
