The Scotland Recreation Committee met March 10, 2026, at Community Hall. Chair Marie Beck called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. and the committee approved the February 2026 meeting minutes after a motion by Katie LeClair and a second from Connee Perry.
The committee reviewed upcoming and ongoing recreation programs. Members reported the community yoga series began Feb. 12 in the elementary school café, meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m., and has completed three sessions; members discussed moving future classes to the school gym if that space becomes available. Planning for Music on the Green continued: the group assembled a summer band list and contacted performers; two local volunteers, Laura and Doug, indicated they would like to participate, and the committee said additional band information is pending.
The committee confirmed a repeat Aug. 15 bridge-challenge race with Community Hall reserved for the event and noted it needs a new finance account to operate the race sign-up site. During budget review, members recorded that there has been no progress on releasing race funds, a constraint the committee flagged for the event’s financial setup. Clean Up Day was agreed to move to the fall.
In open discussion the committee agreed on a membership roster update. The committee will notify the town clerk to remove MJ Pharmer, Tatyana Gronback and Ted Decyk from the roster and to add Deborah (Deb) Wright. The committee set its next meeting for April 14 at 7 p.m. (location to be determined) and adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
Actions recorded in the meeting minutes include the approval of the February minutes (motion by Katie LeClair; second by Connee Perry; unanimously approved) and the committee agreement to notify the town clerk to remove and add the members listed above.
