Summer, a city staff member, reminded Mayor Mason and the commissioners that the deadline to file financial disclosures through the state ethics portal is May 15. She said the state recently moved the filing requirement from local submission to the state portal and that the portal is active but still being refined.
Summer said staff had emailed a PDF version of the form and offered one-on-one assistance: "If you're still having some trouble accessing that or you want some help walking through it, you're welcome to come to my office and we can walk through it together and help you get that submitted timely," and provided a direct line: (580) 616-7279. She told commissioners she would follow up with reminder emails, including one on the fifteenth if a filing had not appeared.
The staff member described the form as a PDF that asks for material interests, stocks, bonds and other reportable financial interests "similar to what you were required to report here, just a new form to the state." She cautioned that the portal rollout has had technical issues but advised commissioners to use the active portal version to meet the deadline.
No penalties or enforcement steps were specified during the briefing. Summer offered to schedule individual appointments for commissioners who need help completing the submission before the deadline.
The mayor thanked staff for the reminder; the session then moved on to the budget presentation.
