GLENDALE — The Glendale Sustainability Commission on May 7 voted to forward recommendations to City Council supporting three California bills designed to speed climate‑resilience funding, increase transparency on fire hazard maps and expand state battery‑recycling programs.
The commission voted to recommend support for AB 35, which staff and consultant Cara Ross said would exempt parts of Proposition 4 implementation from the California Administrative Procedure Act to accelerate distribution of bond funds. "This would expedite the funding moving through the Proposition 4 process," Ross said, adding the change "does not eliminate transparency or consultation" and that competitive bidding and public outreach requirements would remain.
