Isanti County Health & Human Services Director Jody Donne asked the board on April 21 to approve two HHS contracts and both were approved by unanimous roll-call votes.
Donne described a contract with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to provide farmers market nutrition coupons to households participating in the county WIC program for infants aged 4 months or older. She said WIC staff will provide nutrition education focused on fresh vegetables and that the county will receive reimbursement of $1 per set of coupons for administrative time; if approved the contract will be routed through DocuSign.
Donne also said Isanti County serves as fiscal host for the Region 7E Adult Mental Health Initiative and recommended a contract with Attaboys Inc. to provide nonmedical transportation for adults with serious and persistent mental illness. The contract amount is up to $10,000 and is fully funded through initiative funds, "with no levy impact to Isanti County," Donne said. Services include transportation for employment, shopping and appointments to support recovery and community engagement.
Both items passed on motions and unanimous roll-call votes. Donne and commissioners thanked HHS staff for their work on program administration and grant management.
