The board also announced a National Day of Prayer event tonight at 6 p.m. at the Methodist Church Pavilion in Saint Mary's and recognized Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4–8). Commissioners recognized National Correctional Officers Week and Commissioner (label 6) praised long-serving correctional staff, noting many have 20 or more years of service and suggesting the county consider a citation or proclamation.
A student from Ridge Wagner High School was introduced and will observe county operations for the day. The meeting closed by scheduling the next commissioners meeting for May 21 and adjourning.
